Hello Nanci-

I have not had that patrticula=r problem in a rescue
ferret -- HOWEVER back in 1008 we had 2 not one but
two individual ferrets who presented with extra bony
growths on the sternum. One did breathe with his mout
open and perhpas if we had had him longer might had
found other problems-- but he was placed with a family
that moved form NH to Ga and he had a god home for at
least 4-5 years that I know of.

Hope that your little guy pulls through just fine.

Amazing what rescues do encounter in all the
surrenderd ferrets-- isn't it! A real learning curve.
