Subject: [ferrethealth] trouble going potty
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I have two 9-month-old male ferrets (Marshall), one of which I have a
question about (they are brothers). He seems to be having trouble going
to the bathroom. He acts like he's going but when he walks away there is
either nothing there and he drags his bottom across the floor or he goes
a small amount of poop and urine. He is eating, drinking and playing
like normal. I am giving him doses of laxatone hoping it might help. I
called the vet this morning and explained everything and what I'm doing
and they suggested I continue doing what I'm doing over the weekend and
if there is still no improvement by Monday he should be brought in. They
said that if I had told them he is acting differently, seemed to be in
pain or had blood in his stool they would have told me to bring him in
right away. I did look through the archives but there was not a whole
lot on that sounded like what my ferret is doing. What does this sound
like to anyone out there? Thank you for helping me out. I really
appreciate it.
Deb
