Subject: [ferrethealth] Update: sternal defect, need advice on other problem
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Well our little gus has a pectus excavatum. We went to see a specialist today, but
since Gus's pectus is so mild he didn't recommend surgical fix. He also questioned
whether that mild of a pectus could be causing him as much woe as he currently
has.

Gus sounds all stuffy but has no discharge. He's been treated with pred from
August - February with no appreciable relief. His nose appears straight and true
when you look at him, but he's going to have some head xrays on Friday.

Any ideas as to what might be causing him to have stuffiness without goo? His
heart and lungs are fine. If he had allergies I would think the pred would have
helped. And it's all in his nose so that wouldn't be anything viral, right (and for so
long now)? So what sorts of other thing(s) should we look for?
