Subject: [ferrethealth] chest mass
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Hi all.
Has anyone ever had a ferret with a chest mass? Are there any ways to treat chest masses other than surgically? (The surgery itself is pretty risky as it is.)

I really do not think Bear will be a good surgical candidate since he is still recovering from the kidney damage from his insulinoma surgery in December. Regardless, he was diagnosed with a (probably benign) chest mass. I'm not sure if the mass is growing; we're due for a new x-ray soon. He shows no symptoms, other than less activity than when he was younger. (His blood sugar is normal now, so I know his lowered activity is not insulinoma related.)

Just curious.
