Subject: [ferrethealth] Pesticide Safety

Question for vets: Does anyone know if the insecticide chemical Deltamethr=
in (a synthetic pyrethroid) is harmful to ferrets? It is sprayed on floors=
where ferrets can go.
I have bedbugs and this is what the management company's exterminator uses.=
Product is called Suspend.
It seems to be moderately toxic to rats, though I didn't totally understand=
info. regarding amt/body wt. And if it is harmful when dry. Think it was=
from EPA. =
Also, if you know of human safety, please advise as they spray mattresses, =
sofas, etc.
I am more terrified of the toxic chemical than the bedbugs, even though I'm=
itching a lot today. They are not biting my ferret; even on humans they d=
on't seem to bite really hairy areas, so less likely to bite him (that's a =
relief).
