Subject: [ferrethealth] sick ferret and I need advice
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

A vet visit. Ferrets dont' stop eating unless something is wrong,
and it takes very little for them to go downhill fast. They are pretty
stoic animals, hiding pain and illness until they can no longer
compensate,
and then when they do crash it can be quick.

my first and foremost concern is a blockage and that is a surgical
emergency. Either of your theories warrants a vet visit right away.
Plus without eating and still some vomiting- he needs fluids and
some supportive care. The vomit sounds like bile, which is an
indication of an obstruction.

Let us know how the vet visit goes,

Patty
