Subject: [ferrethealth] Pet-Temp thermometer
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

(I assume that questions about health-care equipment and supplies are considered on-topic for the group, so here goes:)

Before dropping any money on this, I thought I'd better ask around and see if anyone else has the Pet-Temp PT-250. This is an ear thermometer for pets that is supposed to be instant read and validated as accurate on dogs and cats. I haven't been able to find a real independant review on this, though one of the pet-store Web sites claims that "thousands of vets" use it.

Is it accurate, and is it properly sized to fit the ear of smaller pets, such as ferrets? Is it difficult to use, requiring three or four hands? (Are any of our vets on the board among the "thousands"? B-)

*SLMW 1.0* Ferrets are cheap; it's the accessories that kill you.
