Subject: [ferrethealth] fatness in ferrets

I have seen the thread on fatness in a ferret combined with breathing
problems. I have a question for the group regarding fatness which is not accompanied
by any other symptoms. My Clementine (Clemy) was well muscled and athletic
until just the last few weeks. She is only 1.5 years in age and her overall
appearance has changed somewhat rapidly. She has gained weight and looks a bit
plump now, although it is distributed all over - not in any one place. She has
never had any medical problems, and she is still active and seems happy and
fairly energetic. When I hold her, she feels a bit different - kind of softer
and less muscled. My concern is that this has happened so quickly. Has
anyone else seen this and does this sound like a vet visit is in order?

Thanks, Lisa & the Treasured Trio (Clemy, Lily and Bridget)
