Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Farting ferret

Hello Brett,
Doesn't actually sounds like farting to me. Especially since this occurs as he is poeping. I would definitely stop giving the half teaspoon of ferretone olive oil 50:50 each morning. Don't give him olive oil at all as ferrets are strict carnivores. Ferretone can be given now and then as a treat. I give mine a drop from an eyedropper once in a while. the amount that you are giving is too much. I'll email you some information privately about food for the ferret by Drs. Hanneke Moorman-Roest. The Netherlands top ferret veterinarian.
Please let me know if your ferret stops "farting."
best regards,
Diane

The stools are pretty soft and unformed, but not to the point of being watery diarrhea. He doesn't seem to have any other symptoms, and I haven't heard a fart except when he poops. <snip>
