Subject: [ferrethealth] Mia's ears are a mess

Hi all: my poor Mia has had difficulties with her ears for several months n=
ow. She started out with this horrible dark almost black discharge that le=
d to her ear drum rupturing. I had taken her in for cleaning and then they=
recommended antibiotics and some ear drops. It seems her ear drum rupture=
d at some point during this treatment, but it is not clear. Bottom line is=
she just finished her 3rd course of antibiotics, her second course of amox=
icillin for 10 days,(previously for 14 and oh does she hate that stuff!) an=
d had two ear cleanings, once where the vet indicated she had a huge plug =
of wax in her ear. So finally I am thinking we are good and yet she still =
looks at me sideways as though she is asking me why is she still so wobbly =
and disorientated and then I see another black looking bit of wax. I have =
to admit I am pretty frustrated. Has anyone encountered this challenge wit=
h other ferrets. I could use some advice before trotting back to the vet f=
or the 5th or 6th time.
