Subject: [ferrethealth] How can I keep spiders out of my ferret's room?
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

My ferret Missy has free-roam of my bedroom, which is in the basement. It is that time of year again at my house where the spiders are coming in anf roaming. They are pretty good sized spiders, ranging from the size of a dime to the size of a quarter. I have no clue what they are, but I have found them romaing in the ferrets cage before, and I am worried about Missy getting bit.

I have heard from people that one item works really well to keep spiders away...its works by sending out ultrasonic waves at a frequency that spiders can't handle. Some variations also send out electromagnetic and ionic waves. I am looking into getting one of these, and am wondering if anyone has ever used one of these things in a home with ferrets. According to the label, they can repel mice and squirrels as well, which has me concerned about using it around ferrets. Does anyone have any experience with dealing with spiders?
