Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Please help me with diarrhea
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Well I went to see my vet today and she suggested to take a break from the
medicines(clarithromycin, omeprazole, and metronidazole) and sent me home with a
bottle of Sulcrate susp to give him every six hour prior to eating. I guess she was
trying to treat him with antibiotics as his limph nods were bigger and his intestines
felt different. Six weeks ago they took blood from Yakuka to do an adrenal panel
and today she told me it came back negative so he has adrenal disease on the top of
this. Does anybody know if there is a connection between diarrhea and adrenal
disease. She was not sure about it. I do not know too much about adrenal disease
just now I read some of the messages and I am puzzled a bit because my vet was
talking about a hormone treatment once a month for the rest of his life but from
reading about it my understanding(english is not my first language) is that surgery
is the only option to treat this. Would you mind helping me out on this please. It all
seemes so confusing now. I have not read anything about hormone treatment
monthly basis but surgery.
All I want is the best for Yakuka. I can only ask my vet tomorrow about the partial
obstruction.
Thank you
andrea
