Well, again, remember that you are going into ANOTHER TOPIC because it is neutering in general that plays a part here, NOT just early neutering
In the U.S. there are some ferret farms which neuter at about 5 or 6 weeks of age.

Things which cause a persistent increase in the production of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) do cause adrenal disease. Some factors which are involved are neutering and too little complete darkness (which equals too little melatonin).
