Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Please help me with diarrhea
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Well today I took Yakuka back to the vet to have an X-ray done to see if he had any
obstruction. She did not see anything that would indicate that. Right now he is off
the antibiotic to see what happens as he was not responding to the meds at all.
Today at lunch I did not have to force feed him. He was eating by himself so I think
he is happy that the meds are gone. His stool is jelly like. As you know it turned out
yesterday that he has adrenal disease. (the result of his adrenal panel just came
back yesterday) My vet does not know if his diarrhea could be in connection with the
adrenal glands so she is not sure if it is a good idea to to something about the
adrenal gland until his stool is not normal. Right now the plan is to see what
happens with him without the meds. Until then I make sure he eats every four hour
and also make sure he stays hydrated and see what tomorrow brings. Somebody
wrote me today whose ferret is adrenal and had diarrhea and pediapred was
something that helped her ferret get rid of the diarrhea. I am sorry for my english
hopefully I am making sense with my writing.
Thank you for all of you all the help I had been given.
Every day I learn something for sure.
thank you again
andrea
