Have you considered a combination of thoracic and abdominal imaging, and CBC with Chemistry Panel for him?
I hope that you have let your vet know about the Prednisolone.
One of my concerns is that perhaps giving the Pred masked a larger problem which has now expanded.
Another is giving a med without vet approval. Please, be sure that your vet knows everything given to your ferrets, otherwise it will be like flying blind.
The third is the licorice since natural forms of licorice are dangerous. The artificial won't have those same concerns but will pack a sugar punch.
