Subject: [ferrethealth] coughing etc
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I need advice on my sick ferret. I bought a set of kits, one male, one female, on--- of
this year. They both had a mild case of ECE but recovered beautifully and were doing
well untill a few days ago. The male, Buddy, has devolped a cough, as well as sneezing,
sniffles, a low fever and wheezing. I assumed this was a cold/flu type thing but i'm
getting concerned since my last ferret died from pneumonia. Buddy didn't seem to
bothered by this until today; he was playing normally yesterday but now he's become
sleepy and withdrawn. My female has recently started sneezing as well though no fever
or coughing as of yet. Is this something i should be worried about or is it just a bout of
the flu?

[Moderator's Note I appears that the poster meant to add the (ages?) and purchase
time but forgot. Just so that folks know that is not a moderation edit... Age is
certainly a useful thing to provide, and sometimes knowing how recently the ferrets
were in a store also can be, as in this case.]
