Subject: [ferrethealth] Peanut is gone : thanks for all the help & advice
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

As of last night Peanut was doing fine after surgery. This morning
when the technician arrived they'd found she'd passed. She had
vomited and aspirated some of the fluid. She'll be cremated on
Tuesday.

What I don't understand is why there is no one to watch the sick and
recovering animals at night. Is this common, the usual? Aparently
there is a kennel keeper, but no vet techs, etc. with the animals at
night.

I'm just sick at heart, crushed beyond words. So close to having her
well again, and it was just over like that.

Thanks to all of you who urged me to insist on exploratory surgery.
It would have saved her life had it not been for her aspirating after
being sick this morning.

:-(

sent. Part of that might be happening in transit to Smartgroups, and part is
happening in Smartgroups itself right now, a problem they are trying to correct.]
