Thanks Tony and Sukie. Yes, I had already found those items on the
web. I was looking for personal experiences from anyone who had gone
this route with their ferret.

Anyway, I sent that message six days ago and for some reason it got
held up with Smartgroups. In the meantime, we've decided to go ahead
and risk surgery. His kidneys are probably not that badly compromised
yet (slightly elevated creatinine, low urine specific gravity, but
normal BUN), and we'll take lots of extra precautions with fluids to
protect his kidneys. My vet is outstanding and I trust that she'll do
everything she can to keep him safe. He is the first ferret I've had
to show really no improvements on diazoxide and his pred dose is
already pretty high.

I'd still love to hear from anyone who actually has used doxorubicin
or another chemo agent for insulinoma. It would be useful to get more
first-hand information into the archives about this topic.

Best wishes to all,

-Pam S.
