Subject: [ferrethealth] dehydrated ferret update
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

She was doing very well, bright eyed and interested in food, but then last night she started to bend her neck backward. Now she is keeping her neck arched up, and her front legs are stiff. She doesn't want to move very much at all. But she is drinking and eating.

I've never seen a ferret do this. I had upped the amount of fluids, too. I didn't realize last night that her looking at the ceiling would become a permanent neck position for her. What does this indicate...thank you all. I receieved several emails with excellent hints. I did the baby food and some gruel as well. We don't know how old the ferret is but they at MOST about 2 to 3 years. Both were perfectly healthy before this. The ferret has defecated and urinated and both looked fairly healthy.

If anyone is going to email please email to: xxx@xxxxxxx.xxx and xxxxxxxx@xxxxx.xxx. Thank you so much.

xxxxxxx
