Sandra, were these cases confirmed by biopsy?
Blood tests in ferrets tend to give misleading results because infections can also up the WBC count a large amount. It was once thought that blood tests could be diagnostic until that problem was found.
Aspirates are better than blood tests but can give false results in either direction.
