Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret passing blood
To: Ferret Health List <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>, Chris Mathis <wzldad@comcast.net>

Indigo, a MF sprite approximately 4 years old, is
severely dehydrated, very weak and passing blood from
her anus. I was out of town last weekend and she was
staying at the local shelter with her cagemates. The
shelter mom didn't notice anything wrong with her and
I didn't see any problems when I picked them up
Wednesday evening. She will lick water off my fingers
but will not drink it. She was tested for ADV a
couple of years ago and was negative, but I realize
that could have changed.

I have a vet appointment first thing tomorrow
(Saturday) morning, but was hoping for some ideas
about what the problem might be and suggestions for
the vet. She is very ferret experienced, but it never
hurts to have additional perspectives.

Thanks,

Sara & Indigo
