Subject: [ferrethealth] Update - eye removal & MRSA
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Update: 3:00 AM - took Sienna back to the hospital for urgent fluids and feeding. I've
tried force feeding her and got about 15 cc's of food and water in her but I don't think
I'm as successful as the vet and techs are. Called at 1:00 today and they said she is
still not eating on her own but responded well to the fluids and feeding. Doc still
thinks it is the harshness of the Chloramphenicol on her tummy. Meds were stopped as
of last night - she's been on the chloramphenicol for 9 days and the vet thinks her gut
just can't take the meds anymore hence the reason for not eating or drinking. So off
the meds and we have our fingers crossed she'll pull through. All I can say is that I feel
helpless and confused when all that was wrong was my baby's eye just needed to be
removed and now I feel like I'm going to loose her.
