Subject: [ferrethealth] Raven again - I think it is ece
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Hi all:

I posted a while ago about surgery results and what I
thought was a melatonin chip allergy. Yesterday, my
dr and I were all high fives, saying that she looked
on the mend, he gave her 20cc of sub q, she's got
viokase in all of her food now, and this morning, when
I checked on raven and her (until now, unaffected
litter mate, erin), their room was a sea of seedy
diarrhea. like I've never seen so much and because of
the volume and the lack of normal poop in the litter
boxes, i think they are both infected, and it looks
like ECE. they are both eating free feed TF and
Eukanuba cat on their own. they are both drinking.
they are both getting at least a tbsp a day of chicken
gravy. they are getting viokase on everything. I had
Raven, only, on .5ml of pred (from a 5ml/5mg mixture),
1/8 tablet of carafate, and .1 of metrodiazole (and
I'd have to get the mixture, but it was something like
60mg - it was cat sized)

so if it's ece, what do I do? i've read through the
archives, sent the pic of the sliced open ferret from
dr williams to my dr to see if that is what she looked
like. she's eating, she's drinking, she's on flagyl,
what more do I need to , now, for both of my girls?

thanks

-becki kain
