At our ferret shelter we use Wysong Archetypal 1 all-natural, cold processed ferret
food in these situations and it has worked wonders on many of the IBD ferrets that
have come in. It comes in a solid chunky format that looks like brownish/grayish
ripped-up cardboard (it's not a kibble at all), and can be rehydrated with water if
needed. It is essentially ground-up prey. It has brought back appetite, normal weight,
and close to normal stools. Note that this is the Archetypal 1.....Wysong has another
ferret food called Archetypal 2 that is in a traditional kibble format and, although it is
also all-natural and cold-processed, it's a very different formulation and not suitable
for the IBD'ers.
