Subject: [ferrethealth] Little Bear
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I have a female ferret that I adopted a year ago. She is about 1 and a half or 2 years old. Within the last month, she lost a lot of weight fast. She got really skinny. She only weighs 1.1lbs. I took her to the vet a couple times, and we have tried 2 different medications. She is eating and drinking and pooping, but she doesn't have any energy, she doesn't play anymore. My vet says the next thing to do is blood work, and that they need to sedate her for that, and that there is a risk she won't make it through the procedure. I don't know what to do. One friend said I should just help her and end her suffering. I don't have a lot of money, and the blood work is very expensive. I don't know what could be wrong with her, and what the chances are of her getting better after. I don't want her to suffer, but I love her so much, and if there is a good chance of her getting better, I would take it. I need some help and advice.
