**That depends on the veterinarian and the hospital. Most of my ferret
surgeries, actually, come home with me overnight, if they're not up to going back
to their own home - there's a post-foreign body removal boy in my kitchen right
now, in fact. There certainly are hospitals that have staff on duty
overnight, as well.

The key is to be aware of what the post-op protocol is in the hospital that
you are dealing with.**
