Hi Michael,

My GUESS would be that something traumatic happened, such as temporarily go=
t stuck and or fell, that caused a period of panic and shock. When ferrets=
go into shock, the stomach and intestines can fill with blood, then be eit=
her vomited out (and maybe found laying in it afterward) and/or passed the =
blood in the stool. Once stabilized, they will usually be fine. This type=
of shock response is often seen in vaccine reactions. Also, a little bloo=
d goes a long way in looking horrible! The lethargy and recovery would als=
o fit shock, by my experiences.

I'm glad Teddy has had an unexpected recovery!
