Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret with Diabetes
To: FHL <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

I wanted to thank you all for your quick replies to my post, and give
you an update on Kodo.

Since my last post, Kodo's meds have been decreased from his usual
0.75ml of Prednisolone 2 times per day, down to 0.375 once per day. He
was on 0.5ml once per day for 5 days, and is getting the current 0.375
until Wednesday. Then he will get it every other day for a few days,
and then it will be stopped completely. His vet didn't want to take it
down too quickly since he's been on it for about 8 months. Kodo
improved with each decrease, and is doing so much better now. On
Saturday (his first day of 0.375ml) we saw a drastic improvement in
him. He was in to the vet for a checkup that day also where they
checked his glucose, which was 129, and a few other things which were
all normal. He seems to be well on his way to recovery.

I can't thank you all enough for your help. Without it, we would not
have known what to do, or how to go about it safely until our vet returned.

Thank you!

[Moderators' Note; please, remember that without the mg/ml for each bottle when
you give ml measurements we do not know how much actual medication is in the
fluid because we do not know which concentration is being used and which
concentration was used before. It is good to hear that his post-operative diabetes
is resolving.]
