Subject: [ferrethealth] Antibiotic question

Has anybody ever used the following antibiotic in ferrets or does anybody
know whether it can be used?
Borgal 24%
Sulfadoxine PhEur 200=A0mg
Trimethoprim PhEur 40=A0mg
Dose: 15 mg active ingredients per kg bodyweight, equivalent to 3 ml Borgal=
24% solution per 50 kg bodyweight.
My vet wants to use it for chronic bronchitis/ lung infection. Dose 0.1ml
injected subcutaneous. This antibiotic is usually used in cattle, pigs and=
horses. My Willow has cardiomyopathy and very possibly adrenal disease in
case this matters.
