We spent several months dealing with ringworm (a fungus) in 2 of our foster homes. It started off looking like a flakey, red splotch on each ferret, not like an actual ring as it does on humans. Not all of the ferrets got it at our home but all of them did at the other persons home. It doesn't look the same on each ferret. We never did determine where it came from.
