but i think jill in oestrus and another castrated male is different thing.

I have a castrated male and two jills and he doesn't try to mate with them even when they are in heat. Bur of course, one ferret is not a good measurement.
What is strange for me in 4 years I have never found anywhere in literature that such behaviour would be normal.

As regards aditional information about these two ferrets they both are from pet shop and where already castrated when sold. The shop says that they were castrated at kits age, but since the shop lies a lot about ferrets age in general it might be not true. However most probably it is.
