Subject: [ferrethealth] answer to Subject: castrated ferrets and sexual behaviour
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com
I am the proud owner of two four year old male sandy ferrets, two brothers.
One of them shows off his dominant caracter by tryin to mate with his more
quite bro.
They are helped and checked again after my conclusion that one of them still
acts sexually active.
My vet thinks it s some kind of showing that he s the alpha animal, the
dominant one.
The only thing i can do about it is keeping them in separate cages when they
re doin it again.
I ve never thought seriously of the idea to give Lupron to the dominant one,
although some friends with lots of experience adviced that to me.
These are the options i heard about.
I hop i was of any help.
