Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Squamous Cell Carcinoma
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Hello again,

I wanted to update you all on my Binny, Shortly after the original post Binny went in
for surgery, They removed the mass on his mandible and he lost part of His Tongue
and Two teeth. ( I would not let them remove part of his jaw ).
After the Surgery we waited 3 weeks and began Radiation and Kemo treatments. I
opted to have his treatments done over 6 weeks, once time a week. Since the end of
his treatments in November his has healed with no signs of the Growth coming
back. He does suffer from the occasional Drooling since he cannot close his mouth
all the way on the side that was operated on.

Although that is all good news, the bad news is Last week he was operated on for
Adrenal Disease, they removed the right Adrenal gland, but during the surgery they
found one lump on his liver ( which they said did not look cancerous ) but it was
removed and sent out for Biopsy and they also found 2 nodules on his pancreas,
which they removed and send out for biopsy, They did say it appears he may have
insulnoma. He is still a little sore today, and now we are awaiting the biopsy reports
due in next week.

I just have to say that with every penny I have spent on my guy to keep him happy
and healthy, it is worth it due to the Love and laughs I get in return. I just wanted to
say thanks for such a wonderful place. Hopefully in some way, shape of forum I have
given hope to someone out there that is going through the same things.

Thanks
Doug

Squamous Cell Carcinoma, which was located on his lower jaw. Due to the nature of
the Cancer The Vet and I both agreed to have it removed as quickly as possible. I
had both X-rays and a Cat scan Done on Binny to see the extent of the Cancer in his
jaw. The Dr said that the cancer itself had not invaded the Jaw bone. The removal of
the Tumor went very well, and Binny is up and running around as usual. Although it
has been two weeks after the Operation, There appears to be no signs of the Tumor
Growing back at this present time. Although my vet warned me not to get Jumping
for Joy yet.

williams Website and have been pretty much enlightened and knocked down by
what I have learned. I have Opted to have the Chemotherapy and Radiation
Treaments Done in hopes to prevent it from coming back or getting rid of what they
called Microscopic tumors which may be present. I know it is said that Radiation and
Chemotherapy does not appear to be benificial...
