Subject: [ferrethealth] Herpes Virus
To: <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

Hi,

My cat was recently diagnosed with having Feline Herpes Virus. Does
anyone know if ferrets can contract this from cats?
I keep reading that dogs and humans can't get it so I assume
ferrets can't get it. Although humans can carry it on their clothes etc.
and can infect another cat by touching the other cat.
Komay may be going into have insulinoma surgery soon and I don't know
if there's a chance that she may get it since she will have a
compromised immune system.

Thank you for any help,

Sheryl
