Subject: [ferrethealth] Question on human allergies to ferrets...
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Has anyone else ever had any allergic reactions to ferrets? I had my first male for over a year and a half, and then developed an allergic reaction to him. My face, neck and wrists broke out really badly, but no internal problems (sneezing, watery eyes, etc.) The 2 female ferrets I had, didn't seem to effect me at all. I was extremely cautious when I was given my last male, Buddy, so I never had a breakout.

I guess I'm just curious if anyone else has had the same problem. I know humans come down with the weirdest reactions to everything... lol
thanks

Oh yea, and while I'm here and thinking about it, why do silvers get the "skunk stripe" down their heads? Do any other colors get it too? My first one was the cutest silver lil guy, considered "pewter sterling silver", and he developed the stripe by about the age of 3. Again, just curious...
thanks again!
