To: <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

I am allergic to ferrets. I will get blisters if I let them lick me, and
almost always have a rash.
I try not to kiss them as my lips swell.

I've developed somewhat of an immunity to my own ferrets, but recently
cuddled a male that is not de-scented.
In minutes I was wheezing and loosing my voice, I get somewhat the same
reaction to adrenal ferrets.

The thing that really helps me is to wipe them daily with un-scented baby
wipes, two per ferret.
They learn to love this type of attention and will lay beside me, waiting
*their turn*.

I like the ones from Costco, just make sure they are unscented.

Also, washing all bedding weekly is a must, twice weekly is better.

We can't have the plastic tubes, mine have old jeans pant legs to crawl
through. These can be washed so as not to re-deposit the oil/saliva from
self grooming.

Hope these ideas help you.
Ardith
