Subject: [ferrethealth] FERRET WASTING
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I'm sure most of you have dealt with this at one point or another..... I have a male...he's approximately 5 years old...not "ill" in the sense of adrenal etc...he suddenly stopped eating. He WILL eat when I feed him but he's a little bag of bones at this point. I don't know what else to do. I"m pumping in the water every few hours along with food that I have softened. I alternate that food with baby food (chicken). Does anyone know WHY ferrets do this? I've recently adopted him and his sister. (Alex and Cleo) The only thing I can think of is that he's upset, because one of my other 4 (KoVu) feels the need to be tough. I'd appreciate any encouragement/advice.

Thanks
Barb
