Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] question about the coma sleep of ferrets
To: <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

Hello Joos
Of the 7 ferrets I have had, only one has done the *asleep, not dead* type
of deep sleep.
That was my Mz Lily, age unknown for certain, but over 7. She would not
waken until I touched her nose with a cold wet finger.
Mz Lily passed away in her sleep, from a tumor that ruptured and bled out.

A friend has a older ferret, almost 8. She has started to do this deep sleep
also. She is on medication for insulinoma.

This same friend has 11 ferrets, and this one is the only one to do this.

Interesting questions Joos.

Ardith
