Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Swollen abdomen
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

36 hrs after vet visit, abdomen size reduced by about 50% from its largest . Ferret is very active and eating like a pig. all bodily functions normal. still waiting for blood results.
More history, for about 2 months she has been chewing on fabric, not often but maybe 2-3 time a week, usually coat sleeve hanging from chair. No previous history of this before. No signs of a blockage at all, no stool irregularities at all.
This is the ferret that started displaying hormonal type behaviour changes about 4 months ago (tries to drag me into cupboard and goes frantic when she can't get me in),no other symptoms at all. Hormone panel (partial Tenessee) showed very low Estradiol pmol/L <10.0
