Subject: [ferrethealth] A first from our household...

I took one of the ferrets we foster for the local ferret shelter in for surgery this morning. She had a terrible enlarged spleen and our vet felt it needed to come out before there were any other issues. He was VERY surprised to find that her spleen had be cut/torn in half at some time but had healed back as basicly 2 spleens. This was a first for him. The vet can't understand why she did't die back when the injury occured. He did send samples in for pathology results to ck for cancers.
She is home and sleeping well thanks to drugs
