Subject: [ferrethealth] adrenal disease/cushings disease

I have an eight year old female "Brandy" who was spayed at 6 months of age. She has no symptoms apart from a swollen vulva with slight discharge. I have taken her to local vets and they state she may have cushings disease??
No vets in the uk are up on ferrets and I am really concerned as to what to do, they have stated I could have her operated on or try some medication, but they were really unsure as to what they were dealing with.
I do not know of any vet with experience in dealing with ferrets and have read as much as I can off the internet but the majority is USA based and I am at a loss as to what to do?? Tests, operate, medicine ??? Does she even have the disease
Please help or advise of a UK website or vet who has some knowledge
