I think there is too much sugar being given, causing spikes in the BG, and then crashes. I believe his vet needs to go over the protocol again. I have heard of sugar supplements being given when pred and dex are maxed out, not when such low doses are being given.

Sukie, I have had success with 3 hand feedings a day. Those of us who work do the best we can. The pred helps maintain the BG level for the hours in between.
