Subject: [ferrethealth] Adrenal Senior
To: <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

I haven't yet read, maybe I missed it, about the treatment and survival of ferrets with bi-lateral
adrenalectomys. A few of my oldsters, one 5 1/2, one a very spry 9, both had adrenal surgeries. My
9 yr old sprite is quite bald, and the 5 1/2 yr gib is getting smelly again with sore skin. My question
is, can they survive without adrenal glands, and what about treatment protocols. I am well aware that
insulinoma may later creep in too, what then? Joan
