Subject: [ferrethealth] Adrenal surgery and post-op nausea
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Julius had surgery for an adrenal tumor and a routine dental cleaning on Tu=
esday 20 June. The surgery went good, except for a small bleed that require=
d the vet to go back in to make sure that he wasn't actively bleeding insid=
e. He is bruise quite bad, but he is moving around real good, his eating go=
od, and going to potty real good. Today is Friday June 23 at 2:34AM and he =
vomitted an amount that may fill a table spoon. He is currently on pred a 1=
/4 twice daily which is getting weaned off of starting today and he is on a=
moxi. Can anyone tell me if this nausea is something I should be very worri=
ed about and also he does grind his teeth (I think twice I have heard him g=
rind his teeth). His vet said the tumor was one of the biggest he has ever =
seen and Julius was showing very little clinical signs. I have had many fer=
rets have surgery and I honestly can't remember if they had a upset tummy s=
o bad that they were vomiting. Please let me know if this is serious, event=
hough he is eating well and pottying good. His stools are solid and his uri=
ne output is good considering the amount of water that has been mixed in hi=
s food.By the way all of his pre and post lab work was normal and his gluco=
se was 118.

Thanks Sherry
