Subject: [ferrethealth] Help!! Pancreatic adenocarcinoma /Chemo gemcitabine

Hi,
My ferret has just been diagnosed with exocrine pancreatic adenocarcinoma. I am looking for others who have experienced this type of pancreatic cancer in their ferret. From what I understand this type of neoplasia is rare in the ferret.
I am looking for chemotherapy protocols that have been tried for ferrets. In particular I am trying to find someone who has used the drug gemcitabine (Gemzar) for carcinoma in ferrets. This drug has been used in cats and dogs successfully, but I am having trouble finding literature on its use in ferrets.
Any comments would be very much appreciated,
