Subject: [ferrethealth] A bug question, having a major problem
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Ok this is kind of a weird question, but i was wondering if any one has had
this issue and knows how I can safely get rid of them.
I think we have been invaded by mites, not ear mites, but mites like you
find on Chickens.
Me, my hubby, and my son, are getting bites all over the place. Now I know a
mosquito can get into the house and you can get a few bites, but this is
like everywhere, like chiggers.
At first I thought possible fleas, I checked every ferret and our little dog
from head to tail, no sign of a flea. Plus no one has been scratching other
then us. Then I happen to notice, my son has a lizard, and in the lizard's
cage there were mites, then i saw one in the bed. Now I know when they get on
Chickens you dilute pin sole with water and spray their butts, under the wings
and necks.
Do any of you think this could be the mites multiplying in the house and we
are getting bite, and is the diluted pin sole ok to spray on our bedding, and
through out the house safe for the ferrets. Now of course I know to keep them
in their cage while this is being done, not to spray their stuff with it,
and not to let them in that room until its dry.
