Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret cut his foot, lots of blood for a minute...?

One of our clients called and told me that Uwe had cut his foot badly, thought there
was only a wee slice on his paw pad. HE bled for a time and dripped all over the place,
causing a somewhat horrific sight for Pa when he came 'round. :) Pa will wash the cut,
which has stopped bleeding now, and apply ointment.
I'm thinking Uwe found a piece of metal in the carpet, perhaps even the carpet tack
strip? If I cut my foot in such a way everyone would tell me to get a teatnus shot (can
you tell I've cut my foot on metal before)...but is there anything that can be done for
ferrets?
