Question: is it "bad" or is it "wee"? For a claw styptic powder would be used, but this is a soft tissue injury from the description.
Even if the bleeding stops this may warrant an antibiotic prescription if the vet thinks there might be too much chance of it getting fouled, as with the litter pot, or may want something topical used like Xenodyne. Has the person considered using newspaper for a while, or newspaper and paper towels to help keep it as clean as possible?
