Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: sick ferret

Ferrets can get depressed when they loose a beloved owner. Each is different, and what may not bother one, may literally 'kill' the other.

She needs to see the vet. Moving to a new home is stressfull enough that Helicobacter can become a problem. Ulcers can also develop.

An easy soft food to give is 1 can of Hills Prescription AD (available from your vet) mixed with 2 jars of Gerber chicken or turkey baby food. Blend and thin to a palatable consistency and refrigerate -or freeze in individual servings. Warmed to baby food temp, most will accept this with a little coaxing. This is also a good food to hide most meds in.

Does it look like she is gritting her teeth or chewing with her mouth empty?
