Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Recurrent Coccidia

I seem to be one of those with recurring Coccidia.I've done the Albon for the 10
days each time .As well as cleaning all cages, beddings & food/water/litter pans with
bleach,shampooing carpets.
We are now on our week break before we start this all over again with Albon.Which
brings me to my question.
I was told that I can spray the carpets & areas as such (don't want to spray the
carpets with bleach,as it's a new place & not mine) with alcohol & it too kills the
eggs.I also spray with Odo-Ban. Will this indeed kill the eggs?
I will send the new fecal samples as soon as I find a competent vet in this area to do
one for us.

[Moderator Note:
BEFORE getting samples those who possibly have such cases need to write DIRECTLY
to Sukie at either or her two addresses:
sukiec@optonline.net
or
sukie@mac.com.
In those notes she will need to be given the treating vet contact info (if possible
both current, and ones who worked on this case before, please, unless the new vet
has the earlier treating vet's file on the case to share) and details on the cases
(including the pet's (pets') names, and the person's name so the vet knows which file
to pull when discussing the case, tests done, etc. Sukie will then send the info on
those possible cases past the pathologist who likely will take it from there, but may
instead ask Sukie to pass on his contact info.]
